Check out this great video on kitchen safety for kids.
1. Adult Sous-Chef: Just like a master chef has an assistant, our young cooks need adult supervision. Before embarking on any recipe, get an adult’s nod of approval. Knives, stovetops, and blenders? Adult help is a must!
2. Dress the Part: An apron or an old shirt keeps clothes clean. But avoid baggy sleeves—they’re like culinary capes that could catch fire or tangle in mixer beaters.
3. Germ-Free Zone: Clean hands are our kitchen superheroes. Wash them before touching food, especially when kneading dough or mixing ingredients. And remember, raw meat and fish can harbor bacteria—so scrub up!
4. Tidy Surfaces: Keep countertops and cutting boards pristine. A clean workspace ensures our culinary creations are germ-free.
5. Leftovers Love: While leftovers are delightful, we don’t want germs crashing the party. Store them safely, refrigerate within 3 to 4 days, and savor the flavors.
So, young chefs, let’s whisk up magic while keeping safety at the heart of our kitchen symphony!
If You're going to work in the kitchen, you have to know your tools.
